In 2020 Jack founded Autism Optimism International, providing new ways to reach even more families touched by autism throughout the world.
Jack has worked with families in their homes, providing play therapy for their children as well as training and support for parents, training and supervision for voluntary and professional staff, helping children re-enter the school system, working with schools and teachers to best support re-integration, providing training and consultancy to businesses with autistic employees, as well as providing ongoing phone and online support for the families he works with.
Jack has a special passion for working with families who have autistic teenagers and young adults. It is never too late to offer meaningful support and opportunity for our autistic loved ones.
Jack’s dream is to help YOU to help your child. To help you embrace your child as they are and to believe in their potential. To help you reconnect to your faith in your abilities as a parent.
Kim Korpady
Play Therapy Consultant
For 16 years Kim's work in the field of autism has taken her from school settings, to in-home therapy programmes, to working as an Autism Play Therapist, Group Teacher, and Global Education Specialist, specialising in Relationship-Based Play-Therapy. She is profoundly grateful for the honour of working (& playing!) with children, teenagers, and adults in the autism community with a range of diagnosis/dual diagnosis. Through the years she has worked with over 500 children and adults, supported families in their homes and worked in school systems.
A huge part of Kim’s passion for this work is supporting parents, and for 10 years she’s taught, trained, and guided parents, providing in-home support, online consulting and training, whole family sessions, workshops and conferences. Kim feels that it is truly a such a gift to hold hands with the families she works with! Kim is inspired daily by the families and children she works with and will be forever grateful to them for sharing their stories with her.
Dr. Natty Triskel, BA (Hons) ClinPsyD MSc
Content Development Consultant
Natty is passionate about working with the team and Autism Optimism International families, to bring all our knowledge and experience together so we can support you to become the best family and relationships you want to be.
Natty spent most of the 1980’s (her 20’s) working in community activism and development. She set up 2 charitable organisations, one supporting women who’d experienced sexual violence and one enabling people with learning difficulties to develop through creative activities. That is where she first met Jack, when he came to volunteer with her as a teenager.
Natty then trained as a Clinical Psychologist. She worked with adults who have mental health difficulties and their families, before moving into physical health services. As a Consultant Clinical and Health Psychologist Natty ran a lifetime support service for people with visible differences, provided clinical and training support to teams working with people who have neurological impairments, and worked in trauma, oncology and pain management. Natty has learned from, and been honoured to work with, every client and colleague she’s worked with
In 2010 Natty took early retirement, as her own health challenges made it increasingly difficult to juggle work, home and family. She carried on working very part-time, mainly using EMDR to support people with complex trauma, but after another 5 years she gave up her professional registrations and memberships. Now, Natty takes on very occasional work projects, supporting colleagues through supervision and programme development.
Natty has loved working with Jack as Autism Optimism International has gone from being an exciting idea to a real, vibrant team and community of families. She has enjoyed working with Jack to develop programmes and courses, and is excited to meet more families.
Madeleine Woolgar
Play Therapy Consultant
Madeleine supports a variety of families worldwide who have a child with a suspected or confirmed autism diagnosis. She works directly with parents, as well as training professionals.
From tantrums, battles of wills and resistance, kicking, biting, Madeleine help parents to understand the reason behind these behaviours (spoiler alert: it’s not your fault!) She equips parents with heart-led, powerful strategies and mindset tools to help them to dramatically reduce their child’s more challenging moments, whilst prioritising their relationship with their child.
Madeleine has worked with families with autistic children around the world for over ten years. For many years, she worked 1:1 with children, as well as training the teams and parents who supported them. In this work, Madeleine experienced first-hand all kinds of battles and emotional outbursts. She learnt how to stay calm and loving in the face of challenge in order to better understand and help these children, a path that she now helps so many parents to tread. She teaches from experience.
Madeleine really believes that people do better when they feel better - and so does your child. That is why her approach is centred around supporting your wellbeing as a parent, as well as the wellbeing of your child. Madeleine feels truly inspired by the deep love the parents she works with have for their child. It is her honour to empower parents to feel more able to support, advocate for and enjoy their child.
Although the majority of Madeleine’s work now involves her supporting parents directly, she also works 1:1 with teenagers and young adults on the spectrum to help them navigate things like college, university and social settings, empowering them to understand and work with their brain (and not against it).
The children and young people Madeleine has worked with continue to be her greatest teachers. She’s thrilled to be a part of the AOI family and looks forward to connecting with you and hearing about your amazing child.
Sadhvi Kapoor, BA (Hons)
Optimism Coach
Sadhvi graduated with BA (Hons.) Management from the University of Leeds. She then went on to work as a HR professional in the corporate sector. Through work she got to practice creating a safe space for communication and nurturing bonds.
For the past 6 years under the guidance of Jack , she has been running an intensive home programme for her son who is on the autism spectrum, helping him develop social relationship skills. She enjoys connecting with her son through one to one play therapy sessions and feels grateful for the deep bond she has been able to develop through her work. She has also trained multiple volunteers to work in her team and supported them with their attitude work .
Due to the constant support and guidance she received through her journey, she was able to strengthen her confidence in her abilities as a parent. She can relate to the pressures and how overwhelming it can get for parents. She also passionately believes in the potential of both the child and the parents. This gave birth to the idea of wanting to support parents to realise the same.
Sadhvi has been trained through AOI to be an Optimism Coach. She is thrilled at the opportunity to connect and provide support to our awesome parents.
Ashley Gallimore, BSc (Hons)
Administrator and Assistant to Jack
Ashley spent the first eleven years of her career supporting various organisations with their administration needs, with roles ranging from within the Health Service to the early years sector. Whilst working in an early years setting, Ashley found a real passion and excitement for the difference that can be made to families’ lives with the right support. Ashley has three little ones of her own, and after having her middle son in 2018, she began volunteering within her local community as a breastfeeding peer supporter and runs her local feeding support group. Ashley also volunteers supporting parents in her community who are experiencing perinatal mental health difficulties.
Ashley is thrilled to be continuing her passion for supporting families (as well her passion for organisation) as a part of the Autism Optimism International team!
Ashley holds a level 2 Business Administration qualification, a Psychology BSc (Hons) degree, a Level 4 certificate in Counselling Skills and is currently continuing her studies in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of the West of England.
